What to know
Ted's has been in business since 1961, when Ted and Beth Kanaley opened a small shop in downtown Tulsa. Beth ran it for more than fifty years, and the shop still calls itself Oklahoma's oldest full-line pipe and tobacco shop.
Pipes are the heart of the place. Ted's carries briars from Italy, Ireland, England, France, and Denmark, along with more than 40 house blends of pipe tobacco, and the staff will blend tobacco to suit you. The cigar side is solid too, with more than 400 shapes and sizes on hand, plus humidors, cutters, cases, and lighters.
It's a shop rather than a lounge, and it sits in Utica Square, so it pairs well with an afternoon of errands or a gift run. If you're buying for a pipe smoker, this is the first place I'd send you.
